The sphoto (76)econd of the Niyamas (Observances) is Santosha, also known as Contentment or Equanimity.  This week, consider how you might cultivate contentment in your life.  One of my favorite equanimity-building practices is writing a daily list of gratitudes.  Usually just before bedtime, I pull out my journal and jot down a list of 5 things for which I feel gratitude in that moment.  Depending on how tired I am, I might write a paragraph for each item — or I might write just one word.  Either way, I love the feeling of heading toward sleep with these positive thoughts in mind!
