Observing Self-Discipline


IMG_0244The practice of self-discipline has many benefits, including development of dedication, patience energy and willpower.  While it may seem counterintuitive, observing self-imposed limits can result in expansion and growth.  The key is to focus our discipline — called “Tapas” in yoga — in a compassionate way that nurtures development and success.  As you consider this Niyama, look for ways to strengthen your ability to set an intention and then stick to your commitment.
