For many people, yoga asana is an opportunity to begin what can be a lifelong practice of caring for the body. Coming to the mat can be a joy, it can be a refuge, and it can be a revolution. From the launching point of asana, practitioners have the opportunity to explore what it means to bring the eight limbs of yoga into the rest of their lives: their thoughts, intentions, words, and deeds; their relationships, work, mindfulness and consciousness.
My invitation to you is first to enjoy the fruits of your physical yoga practice. Enjoy feeling calmer, more fit, and more radiant in body and mind. And then … consider how you might begin to carry those benefits into other areas of your life. Besides exercise, what other parts of your life would you like to adjust in order to optimize your well-being?
