Thought is a key component of being that often needs re-tooling. The normal development of the mind naturally leads us to develop thought patterns based largely on our particular, individual experiences — patterns dependent on causes.
Mindfulness practice gives us the opportunity to become aware of these often subconscious thought patterns, thereby making room for the potential to change our ingrained ways of thinking.
As you move through your day, notice how you think about things. Ask yourself: “Is this true? What else is true?” How else might I think about this?” Consider whether what you initially see as “truth” may actually be dependent on a series of presumptions.
