Yoga and Starting Over

Lavendar crocuses in bloomSpring is a time of renewal. How can your asana practice support and inspire a re-boot to your daily life off the mat? There are at least as many answers to that question as there are people in the world — there are an infinite number of reasons or ways a person might want to recreate her life. Still, there are some basic aspects of yogic wisdom that might be applied on any path of change. Here are a few of my favorites:

  1. Notice – non-judgmental self-awareness allows us to notice our habits and observe whether they promote wellness.
  2. Breathe – support a sense of inner spaciousness.
  3. Let Go – allow yourself to let go of patterns that no longer serve you.
  4. Practice – practice new, healthy ways of being.
