Think of a time when you planned for a very special gathering of two or more people. Maybe it was a special date. Or a surprise birthday party. Or a celebration for a special group of people. What went into that planning?
At the most basic level, you probably had an intention (a reason or goal) for the gathering, and you probably also had in mind a special location or type of setting (maybe a beautiful overlook, or a comfortable community space).
Intention and setting should also come into play when we are strategizing a successful conversation with an individual or group with conflicting viewpoints on the topic at hand. Think of an important conversation you would like to have. What surroundings or environmental conditions would support your intention?
